Design and construct steel frame building, insulated metal wall and roof panels, concrete foundation, structural concrete floor. Functional area, to include laboratory (150 feet wide, 90 feet deep, 24 feet eave height), private unisex restroom, community coffee mess, and closed utility room and rooftop equipment platform (minimum 8' x 8', solid surface galvanized diamond plate with railings and external stairs, engineered for 100psf (uniform) live load and 2000 lbs. concentrated.
The facility is to be used as a laboratory to work on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The requirement is to get them out of the sun and wind and to perform electronic work and device attachment to the UAV. Project is located in seismic activity area and in a special wind zone (basic wind speeds of 100 mph). The design is to meet requirements for these factors. The building is to be a secure facility that meets”Open Secret” requirements when large door is closed and padlocked.
This project required multiple trades involving mechanical, electrical, structural, plumbing, concrete, underground utility installation, finish carpentry, exterior insulated panels, epoxy flooring, fire protection and all the necessary trades to supply and install a complete new 13, 000 square foot building.
T. Simons Co., Inc. is self-performing the following: CQC management, concrete, metal stud framing, drywall, tape, texture, painting, doors and hardware, finish carpentry, epoxy flooring and installation of insulated exterior wall panels.
